 Can I purchase in Turkey?

According to a law enacted on January 7th 2006 foreign nationals can by real estate in Turkey provided there are reciprocal and complying legal restrictions  ie that real estate acquisition rights given by a foreign country to its own citizens are also given to citizens of the Republic of Turkey.

What is POA ( Power of Attorney )?

A power of Attorney is given by the purchaser to a third party in Turkey to act on their behalf in relation to the purchase or sale of a property.
 

How much is an annual community charge?

Community charges vary from district and depending on which area you buy in and the type of property you buy.
 

Do I need a Solicitor?

No. İt is not legally necessary to employ a solicitor However, if you wish, we can put you in touch with an English speaking Solicitor in Turkey. The usual cost of a Solicitor is in the region of € 800.
 

Do I need a Visa to enter Turkey?

Please check visa requirements with your local Turkish embassy or consulate. For UK, Ireland and Holland passport holders when you enter Turkey, by air or sea, a 3 month Visa is obtained at the point of entry. This will cost you € 15.00 and can be renewed every 3 months. İf you buy property and wish to reside in the country, Visas for a minimum of 12 months to a maximum of 5 years can be obtained and renewed.

What about insurance?

İnsurance is freely available in Turkey and the normal cover such as Fire & Perils cover including Public Liability is available. Earthquake insurance is also obtainable for an additional Premium.
